Hosptial nitrogen gas generator for LC-MS

In this user story from Bispebjerg, Pharmacist Peter Olsen discusses the Genius NM32LA generator he has been using for LC-MS analysis.

Typically what is the focus of your LC-MS analysis - what sort of applications?

"Method development for analysis of compounds regarding different research projects."

What Peak Scientific generators do you have in your laboratory and what LC-MS instruments do they supply?

"We have a Genius NM32LA which feeds a Micromass Quattro Ultima mass spectrometer."

What prompted you to choose a Peak generator and how long have you used it?

"In the beginning we used gas cylinders but we had to change them too often, and they would run out mid-analysis so we needed something else. I made enquiries with two other companies but Peak offered me the best deal for me."

What has been the key benefit of deploying Peak generators as opposed to your previous gas supply solution?

"The gas doesn't run out mid-analysis and we don't need to replenish the supply all the time like we did with the cylinders."

How would you describe your purchasing experience with Peak in terms of speed of response, ease of ordering, catering for your needs and timing of delivery?

"Excellent. When we have been in need of a generator service the response time has been very short and the staff have been friendly. All in all, a very good experience."

Have you ever had a site visit from a Peak engineer, if so, could you describe your experience of this support?

"We have had the generator since autumn 2010 so we have had several visits for preventative maintenance and to fix things. Everytime the visit has been flawless and the service engineers have been friendly and helpful."

Would you recommend Peak Scientific generators to other laboratories - and if so, what would be your main reason for the recommendation?

"Certainly. Our generator is very robust and needs very little servicing. I've also had excellent technical support."

Peter has a compressor based Genius NM32LA which provides nitrogen gas at up to 32L/min and is compatible with most LC-MS instruments.

With his Peak gas generator Peter has explained that he no longer has to carry out cumbersome cylinder changes or worry about his gas supply running out mid-analysis which are clear sources of satisfaction for him. He has also been pleased with Peak's overall customer service, specifically mentioning our friendly staff, short response times and excellent technical support.
