Agenda1 is a Specialist Contract Research Organization working primarily with the Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Medical Device and Nicotine industries, offering support in many aspects of analytical science. Agenda 1 has a very wide range of equipment, including a Peak Scientific gas generator, and provide method development and validation services as well as routine analytical work and specialist formulation development activities. The Chromatography Team Leader at Agenda 1, Stephen Botfield, has told us about his experience with Peak Scientific and their NG5000A and N118LA generator. This is what he had to say about their work:

Typically, what is the focus of your analysis - what sort of applications?

"For the purposes of our analysis we use LC and GC instruments utilising a range of detection techniques including MS. Our focus is primarily method development and validation however we do also perform some routine analysis. Our Peak generator supplies an LC-ELSD in our lab."

What Peak Scientific generators do you have in your laboratory and what LCMS instruments do they supply?

"Initially we purchased an NG5000A for our LC-ELSD but we have since exchanged this for an NM118LA as this was a better match for the gas flow we required."

What prompted you to choose a Peak generator and how long have you used them?

"Peak’s reputation in the market was a big factor in our decision. The benefit of a well-known and trusted brand far outweighed the risk of using another product or going back to using cylinder gas."

What has been the key benefit of deploying Peak generators as opposed to your previous gas supply solution?

"A constant and consistent supply means our analysis isn’t dictated by our cylinder supply. We no longer have to worry about changing cylinders on a regular basis, carrying them around the lab or placing orders when we run out."

How would you describe your purchasing experience with Peak in terms of speed of response, ease of ordering, catering for your needs and timing of delivery?

"We have received excellent service from all staff, in all aspects of the purchase and follow up queries."

Have you ever had a site visit from a Peak engineer, if so, could you describe your experience of this support?

"We have had a visit from a Peak engineer and our experience was excellent."

Would you recommend Peak Scientific generators to other laboratories - and if so, what would be your main reason for the recommendation?

Yes, I would recommend Peak Scientific generators to other laboratories because of the reliability and level of service received.
