Packaging & Packaging Waste Regulations

The European Union has, on the 12th August 2026, started enforcing the requirements of the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) Act. 

The main points of the PPWR Act:

• Applies to all packaging types (primary, secondary, tertiary) placed on the EU market, affecting manufacturers, importers, and e-commerce sellers.
• Bans certain single-use plastics (like hotel miniature toiletry bottles or condiment sachets).
• Bans PFAS chemicals in food-contact packaging.
• Requires technical documentation and an EU Declaration of Conformity for packaging.
