CAD Technician

THE COMPANY

Peak Scientific Instruments, a fast–growing company specialising in the manufacture of laboratory gas generators for the life science and biomedical market is looking to recruit a CAD Technician.

 

We are an award winning company having recently achieved our third Queen’s Award for industry, with our head office based in a modern facility at Inchinnan by Glasgow International Airport and have a very strong reputation in the market place.  Our current turnover is £16m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years.  We export 90% of our sales to approximately 115 countries and we have opened a number of overseas offices including the USA, China, South Africa, and Australia and are planning to set up more in the near future including Japan.

 

POSITION

Reporting to the Engineering Design Manager the main duties of this new role will include:

 

  • Liaising with Design Engineers using Solidworks to develop 3D CAD models for new products.
  • Producing accurate 2D drawings to industry standards.
  • Maintaining revision control and part data management in line with company procedures
  • Updating drawings in line with Engineering Change procedure.
  • Liaising with both metalwork and plastic suppliers on design and cost improvements.
  • Assisting with prototype builds.

 

IDEAL CANDIDIDATE  

  • A minimum of 2 years in Sheet Metal Design Engineering
  • Time served and/or with a HND in an Engineering discipline
  • 3D CAD Modelling.
  • Experience of Pneumatic or Hydraulic fittings. 
  • Understanding of construction methods.
  • ISO9001:2000 Design and Development
