THE COMPANY
Peak Scientific is a little bit different than other gas generator manufacturers on the market today. First and foremost, gas generators are our only business and we are purely focussed on this specific market. Our products are second to none and we like to think that we are leading the industry with our innovative gas generating products and even more so, with our world renowned Service & Support.
We are an award winning company having recently received our third Queen’s Award for industry, with our head office based in a modern facility at Inchinnan, by Glasgow International Airport, and have a very strong reputation in the market place. Our current turnover is £16m, with plans to grow significantly over the next few years. We manufacture and maintain gas generators for the laboratory market and export 90% of our sales to approximately 114 countries. We have recently opened a number of overseas offices and are planning to set up more in the future.
POSITION
Reporting to the Finance Director the main duties of this new role will include:
- Financial and commercial analysis and decision support for each office
- Setting up overseas offices, including premises, legal and financial entity
- Local compliance. e.g. Insurance, Banking, Vat Reg, Statutory Reporting
- Understanding Import/Export and tax requirements including transfer pricing
- Liaising with external advisors
- Improving monthly reporting for overseas offices
- Setting up accounting systems for each offices
- Assisting with the development of in-house systems
- Identifying and implementing process improvements
IDEAL CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will be a qualified accountant preferable with tax experience and commercial acumen. Is passionate about international business and able to adapt and communicate well with different cultures. The role will involve extensive travel.
