Newcastle University - Case Study
With several nitrogen gas generators installed and service contracts in place, The Medical Toxicology Unit at Newcastle University is a long-standing and valued customer of Peak Scientific.
It is little surprise therefore that when the decision was made to refurbish the unit and to transform it into a state of the art facility with new laboratories and offices, Peak Scientific was chosen to provide a nitrogen gas solution for the entire building.
This project involved the supply and installation of a 300L/min nitrogen generator and oil-free air compressor as well as constructing a new gas ring main around the building. No mean feat when you consider that the plant room where the equipment was to be housed is an underground basement!
Un-deterred, the Peak Scientific team disassembled the compressor and re-assembled it in the basement. The large nitrogen gas generator had to be expertly lowered by telescopic crane!
The new system is now in place and the Peak Scientific NM300L nitrogen gas generator is supplying all of the LCMS instruments in the laboratories on the 1st floor of the building.

Dr Michael Dunn, Mass Spectrometrist at the Medical Toxicology Centre said “We have worked with Peak Scientific for several years. We know how good their generators are and have always been delighted with the service support they have provided us. When we decided to go for one large system to supply the whole building Peak Scientific was always going to be our preferred supplier.”
