The National Institutes of Health (NIH), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, is the nation’s medical research agency — making important discoveries that improve health and save lives.
PEAK has been supplying departments in the institute for over ten years. We caught up with Ruin Moaddel, Staff Scientist at NIH, to ask about their experience of PEAK generators so far.
Typically what is the focus of your LC-MS analysis - what sort of applications?
Bioanalysis, metabolomics and proteomics.
What PEAK Scientific generators do you have in your laboratory and what LC-MS instruments do they supply?
We have several PEAK generators, specifically the Genius 1020 and Genius 3020 and they supply our SCIEX API 4000 LC-MS/MS System, the SCIEX Triple Quad 5500, and SCIEX Triple Quad 6500+.
What prompted you to choose a PEAK generator for LC-MS and how long have you used it?
Have been using peak for over 10 years. We have used them largely due to their reliability and customer service.
What has been the key benefit of deploying PEAK generators for LC-MS as opposed to your previous gas supply solution?
The key benefits are the generators robustness, and overall quality.
How would you describe your purchasing experience with PEAK in terms of speed of response, ease of ordering, catering for your needs and timing of delivery?
We have had a very positive experience and appreciate the rapid response received to ordering. Delivery was quick and installation was simple.
Have you ever had a site visit from a PEAK engineer in relation to your generator for LC-MS, if so, could you describe your experience of this support?
Yes. Always friendly and positive. They are very knowledgeable on the instruments.
Would you recommend PEAK Scientific generators to other laboratories - and if so, what would be your main reason for the recommendation?
Yes I would. My main reason would be around the ease of ordering. Also, the quick delivery and installation, and the fact that they are always responsive.
