PEAK impresses Georgia Department of Agriculture with its Hydrogen generator.

The Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA) is the oldest state department of agriculture in the United States. It helps farmers, consumers, and businesses, and regulates animals, food, fuel, plants, soil, and pesticides produced or sold within the State of Georgia.

We caught up with Dementris Williams, Pesticide Lab Manager at GDA, and a new customer to PEAK Scientific, following the recent install of the PEAK Hydrogen Trace gas generator.

What is the focus of your GC analysis, and what sort of applications do you undertake?

Our focus is to analyze a library of pesticides on food and environmental samples.

Which PEAK Scientific generators do you have in your laboratory, and what GC instruments do they supply?

We have the Hydrogen Trace and it supplies our GC/MS and GC/MS/MS.

What prompted you to choose a PEAK generator for GC, and how long have you been using it?

We've had our PEAK generator for about six months now. We chose this particular generator as it offered the capacity of flow rates that we needed and the carrier gas of interest. Thanks to it's compact size, it also fits in our lab perfectly.

What has been the key benefit of deploying PEAK generators for GC compared to your previous gas supply solution?

For us, the key benefit is that it generates hydrogen continuously and we do not have to keep using tanks for supply.

How would you describe your purchasing experience with PEAK in terms of speed of response, ease of ordering, catering to your needs, and timing of delivery?

Our purchasing experience was very fast and the support was efficient and very helpful.

Would you recommend PEAK Scientific generators to other laboratories? If so, what would be your main reason for the recommendation?

Yes, they are robust, efficient, easy to install, easy to use, and customer service is awesome!

The Precision Hydrogen Trace generator

Capable of supplying multiple GC instruments, the Precision Hydrogen Trace 250 generator is designed primarily for GC carrier gas use, and can also be used for detectors requiring hydrogen gas such as FID and FPD.

It produces the highest purity of hydrogen from the Precision series by utilising a Proton Exchange Membrane to create hydrogen gas from deionized water. Its Pressure Swing Absorption and molecular sieve technology removes moisture content down to trace levels.

The Precision range also is designed and manufactured to enhance workflow for labs using GC. Removing the hassles and inconvenience of cylinders, such as running out of gas mid-analysis, managing supply stocks and placing orders. Replacing helium cylinders with a hydrogen generator can also bring faster run times, increasing the number of samples your lab can run daily.

Our generators comes with many highly robust safety features as standard, allowing for peace of mind in the laboratory and a far safer, dependable and more convenient alternative to cylinder gas.

This small, but perfectly formed generator has been a welcomed addition to the Georgia Department of Agriculture lab, offering a robust and effective method to conduct future analysis of its library of pesticides on food and environmental samples.
