THE ROLE: This key IT Operations Manager role reflects significant business growth and our strategic decision to bring the IT function in-house to avoid reliance on external suppliers. Reporting to our Head of IT and responsible for 3 direct reports, you will own our IT infrastructure, including telecoms, email and Cloud services, with technical responsibility for planning, management and operational performance, against a background of change, in addition to contributing to global strategy.
Ensuring that support, back-up and recovery procedures are in place for all Peak Scientific operational systems, you will set performance and benchmark metrics, guiding local business units on the technical elements of disaster recovery planning, as well as:
- evaluating proposals and recommendations for IT capital investment
- project managing infrastructure and communications projects
- negotiating and managing third party contracts
SKILLS REQUIRED: As IT Operations Manager, almost certainly educated to Degree level in an IT or technical discipline, you will need a proven IT technical leadership track record within a global corporate environment, underpinned by strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience of Microsoft server systems and application products. A superb all-round communicator, able to identify and assess new technologies, you have the acknowledged capability to manage and deliver global key infrastructure projects. Your robust business acumen compliments excellent customer focus and the ability to work closely with external vendors.

- experience of creating SLAs and the infrastructure to meet them
- the ability to write IT operational procedures
- expert knowledge of unified communications and VoIP technologies
- the flexibility for some domestic and international travel
